Power of Sound
Two scientists by the name of GRAHAM and NEIL did a experiment in a crowded street, in Australia's Melbourne city. The experiment was done to show the 'POWERS OF SOUND'. The medium of the experiment was a Motor-Car. They wanted to move the car, according to their commands.The car followed their command when they said 'START' and again when they commanded 'GO', the car started moving and stopped when they said 'HALT'. People thought it to be a magic, which in reality, it was not. It was merely an experiment, which showed the 'Power of Sound'. But how did it happen?
Graham had a Transmitter in his hands; The function of the Transmitter was to convert the command into a fixed frequency of electrical power, and send it to the control unit, which was fitted in the dashboard of the car. Another device named 'CAR RADIO' was fitted in front of the Control-unit.
When the electro-magnetic frequencies transmitted by the Transmitter, dashed against 'CAR RADIO' the cars engine started and even began to move, and ultimately stopped. The source of all these happenings was the 'SOUND WAVES'.
In England there is a place called STONE HVEJ where stones are attached in such a way that even a slight sound makes it vibrate so vigorously that there is fear of its falling down. For that reason music is also prohibited there.
'OM' AND ITS POWER
A German Scientist after doing an experiment with the Mantra OMKAR,came to the conclusion that the vibrations created by the pronunciation of 'OM' is so strong and powerful that it can break a wall, if it is said inside a room.
THE POWER OF 'STOTRA'
After realising the fact, that SOUND is the most powerful element, our ancient sages developed the science of STOTRA. The effects of whatever we say, falls on our self, on society, and even on the universe. A small pebble thrown in a pond creates numerous ripples.

The so-called well-educated men do not believe in the powers of these STOTRAS. They consider it merely a 'Blind Faith', which has no logic. They do not understand that how a mere pronunciation of MANTRA can relieve a man of his mental agonies, cure a snake-bite, help in acquiring wealth or help in getting a son.
THE VIEWS IN INDIAN PHILOSOPHY REGARDING THE POWER OF SOUNDS AND STOTRAS
According to the views given in Indian philosophy sound (SHABDA) or STOTRA is the most powerful, because it is related with Ether, which is very subtle. The power of SUBTLE (SUKSHAMA) is greater than the GROSS (STHOOLA). When an atom is splitted, it creates great energy, although it is so small that it is impossible to see it, with our naked eyed. It is amazing how our ancient sages, could create or destroy. With the mere pronunciation of MANTRAS. Not only that, they could even control the forces of Nature by the help of the MANTRAS.
EXPERIMENTS ON SOUND WAVES BY SCIENTISTS
STOTRAS are like Mantras. There is a sound energy in Mantras. The group of Sounds is called a MANTRA. Scientists have done a lot of experiments on SOUND WAVES. Even in Medical Science, it is being used to relieve pain by sending high frequency Sound waves on the affected part. A device, which sends the sound waves at the speed of 10,000,000/ Sec, is used on the pain affected part, which creates heat that relieves the pain.The use of Sound waves has revolutionised the treatment of the people suffering from mental diseases. Doctor Lindstroy of 'EVTA COLLEGE OF MEDICINE' used Sound Waves on 192 patients, suffering from serious mental disease. Out of these 137 patients were cured. This happened because of the SOUND ENERGY.
Similarly if the Stotras are pronounced correctly, following the rules and regulations, given in the Scriptures it can undoubtedly cure the diseases.
It has been described in our 'MANTRA SHASHTRAS' that Mantras have the power to Vanish anything, Mantras can also create Heat or Cold. There are scientific laws behind it.
Scientists of Einstein College of Medicine achieved success in getting three-dimensional photographs of Sound Waves. This helped the doctors in the treatment of RASAULI (glandular Swelling in the eyes).
Dr. Hutchinson of America successfully treated many patients, by the help of sound waves, created by Musical notes. Scientific researches have also shown that a kettle filled up with coffee starts boiling when kept between the range of 3000 cycles/Sec - 34,000 cycles/Sec, sound waves frequency, and source from a Megaphone. If the frequency of the sound waves is increased, than it can ever lift a small coin in the air.
Madam Fun Long, a French Scientist after doing experiments, said that Sound is deeply related with our Minds and Hearts. She did an interesting experiment. She tied a chalk with a string on the lower part of her Guitar, and hanged the chalk on the blackboard. The chalk started to move, when the Guitar was played, and made some unclear lines on the blackboard. The lines changed, when notes were changed. Once she invited a friend to sing a devotional song. The friend sang a song in which Mother Mary and Jesus Christ were praised. While the song was being sung a figure of a Mother, holding a child in her lap was made on the blackboard. Unsatisfied, she called an Indian student and requested him to pronounce some Sanskrit-Shlokas. The student chanted the 'KAALABHAIRVAASHTAKA' STOTRA'. As a dog was made on the blackboard, according to the contents of the Stotra, This goes to prove that Sound (Mantra & Stotra) is deeply related with ones Mind and Heart, and also has the power to affect them.
An American Scientist of California did an experiment by producing Sound waves of more than 1 crore cycles/sec. The heat produced, was so great that a piece of cotton on the path of Sound Waves was burnt and the clothes of the Scientists became warm, Had they not moved away from the path of the SOUND Waves, their clothes too would have surely burnt.
There are many more examples of SOUND WAVES being used in Medical Science.An instrument called TRANSDVEER can do subtlest of operations. This is the power of ULTRASONIC SOUND.
Scientists say that our ears can hear the Sound frequencies between 20Hz to 20,000Hz.Our ears can not hear outside this range.
It is very clear that the path through which a sound moves, has the capacity to make great & significant changes. Mantras and STOTRAS work on this principle. The Sound waves are transformed into electrical energy, while we pronounce them, when coupled with emotions it is most powerful, which can accomplish impossible tasks.
JAPA and DHYANA, are similar to NAADA (Sound and BINDU SAADHANA (Concentration on a point), which can pierce the greater or the subtlest particle.
The causes and effects of the 'MANTRAS' and'STOTRAS' could not be analysed till date, because they are based on Ultrasonic Sounds, which, we can neither see, nor hear. But if these are pronounced with clarity and emotion, than it can do wonders.
