Intoxicants in Sikhism

Consumption of intoxicants and womanising are considered as a sin in Sikhism. Even touching of tobacco and other narcotics is sinful.

Devotion has a supreme place in Sikhism. Devotion teaches one to develop faith in the religion. Devotion transforms the person. There are two kinds of devotion : Internal and External. Internal devotion is one in which a person remembers God in his heart. In external devotion, person takes to verbal recitation and singing or motets to remember God.

There are distinct rituals for naming, marriage and cremating a person in Sikhism.
