Caste And Creed In Sikhism

There is no differentiation between the castes and creeds in Sikhism . A true Sikh does not believe in high caste or low caste. As per the philosophy of Sikhism, a person with good and pious deeds is higher. Such a person has consideration for others, recites His name and always prays for the welfare of the others . On the other hand, a person with wretched deeds is definitely of low standard. Thus, good or wretched deeds are the sure signs of high or low caste. One has to be pious in order to attain a high status. Sikhism, therefore, respects the people equally , irrespective of their castes and creeds. Everybody is allowed to enter a Gurudwara and participate in the Langar (Community feast).
