SATVARADHANA (Service towards all living beings)

How do Bodhisattvas basically serve all living beings?
According to Buddhist philosophy, the worshipped God is Buddha.

It is said in the Bodhicharyavatar, how one can repay Buddha and the Bodhisattvas without engaging in Satvaradhana or service. If you engage in the Karma of emancipating the world, you shall pay due respects to Buddha and the Bodhisattvas who sacrificed themselves at the altar of service and altruism. Even though, they have not done anything good for you, it is imperative to serve them selflessly.

Satvaradhana is in the real sense, worship and is the ultimate instrument to enlighten oneself. It is the one that shall mitigate all the miseries and sorrows of the multitudes. One should always remember that one can never attain enlightenment or state of Bodhisattva by hurting others.

How can one create an ideal nation? The answer to this question is, where all humans live and dwell eternally in happiness and peace, by renouncing selfishness, and where all people of the world unite in a shrine representing global peace and unity.

From times immemorial, philosophers and thinkers from all over the world have been throwing light on the different methods or paths to attain global peace and unity. Amongst these thinkers, Acharya Shantideva holds a special place. Acharya Shantideva had attained Siddhi because of penance and has written a number of books on Sanskrit, namely Bodhicharyavatar, Shiksha Samuchchayam and Ratna Samuchchaya.

He says: "The one and the only way to put an end to all the ostracism and tyranny is Maitri which is fundamental in all spiritual paths and faiths.
