1) If Ketu is present in the ascendant or the first house of the horoscope of a man, he causes pain and anguish to his friends, is restless, tormented by the tensions concerning his wife and sons, suffers due to his over anxiety and has excessive wind (vaat) element in his body.

2) If Ketu is present in the second house of the horoscope of a person, he possesses a tranquil mind, has to face the wrath of the king, he suffers from the disease of the mouth and is a rebel in his house. If Ketu is under the influence of an auspicious planet, it brings joy and happiness.

3) If Ketu is present in the third house of the horoscope of a person, his enemies are doomed to destruction, he also has disputes with people, he acquires wealth and prominence in the society.

4) If Ketu is present in the fourth house of the horoscope of a person, he is unfortunate not to have his mother alive, is unhappy with his friends and his ancestor's wealth is destroyed. But if Ketu is in high position i.e. if it is in the zodiac of Sagittarius, he is happy with his friends but is restless.

5) If Ketu is present in the fifth house of the horoscope of a person, he has disputes with his brother, suffers due to excessive wind element in his body, has few children and is very brave.

6) If Ketu is present in the sixth house of the horoscope of a person, he has to face humiliation from his maternal uncle, he annihilates his enemies, and gets pleasures from rearing domestic animals.

7) If Ketu is present in the seventh house of the horoscope of a person, he is an indecisive sort of person. His indecisiveness causes great loss. He is fearful of water (rivers, ponds etc.). But if Rahu is in the zodiac of Scorpio, it is considered to be an auspicious condition that gives many benefits, but it also causes sufferings to his wife and sons, and his mind is restless due to excessive expenditure.

8) If Ketu is present in the eighth house of the horoscope of a person, he is most likely to suffer from the disease of piles, he has also the chances of falling down from a vehicle or from high altitudes. But if Rahu is in either of the following zodiacs- Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio, this combination is always advantageous regarding wealth.

9) If Ketu is present in the ninth house of the horoscope of a person, he is happy and contented, has sons, gets help from the people of low-caste to earn his income, suffers due to his brothers and also from pains in his arms. Doing 'japas' to the Ketu and offering charity are remedies to overcome these ill-effects.

10) If Ketu is present in the tenth house of the horoscope of a person, he gets happiness from his father, but is ugly looking, suffers because of vehicles, i.e. minor accidents, bruises etc., but Ketu becomes a destroyer of enemies if it is in combination with an auspicious planet in zodiac signs- Aries, Taurus, Virgo or Scorpio.

11) If Ketu is present in the eleventh house of the horoscope of a person, he is fortunate, has knowledge of the sacred texts and scriptures, is endowed with beauty, has a liking for expensive clothes and ornaments, but is also bereft of children.

12) If Ketu is present in the twelfth house of the horoscope of a person, he suffers from pain in his abdomen and feet. He also suffers from pain in his body caused by some serious illness, he is a tight-fisted man regarding expenditures on religious matters. He is an annihilator of his enemies.
